Houston area ammo?

Ok.... This ammo craze is ridiculous!

I've been to two Walmarts, an Academy Sports, and a Gander Mountain and they all look like a grocery store after a hurricane! Nothing left on shelves but some shotgun shells....

Does anyone know of places around here that have any .22LR ammo in stock? Hopefully not gouging the price either...

Walmart gets it in from time to time.
Why don't you call them and ask when their next shipment will be in stock?

I can't believe what some jerks are trying to get for their bricks on the internet.

I've had luck at several LGS's in my area priced a little high but not outrageous... heck even Wallmart's price has gone up... I've got plenty of ammo but I always pick up a little here or a little there and that's why I've never ran out... but yea try the LGS's... good luck...

I'm not in your area but my best luck has been at Walmart. I just stop every few days after work. Two of the stores in the area seem to get cleaned out but I get lucky at the other one. Even picked up a few boxes of 223 there last week. Good luck in your search! Persistence pays off.

Gonna try back tomorrow at Academy... The guy there said they get shipments pretty much any day.... Not really a set schedule...

And their pricing really hasn't changed either thank God!

I have a lot of blazers stocked, but I have seen 3 of the Remington golden bullet buckets for 65$ when I went in last week. That's about it. There are a lot of .22 shorts, and shot shells by CCI and Federal. This was at the 290/610 Academy.

I live in houston too and your right its like trying to find bottle water after a hurricane. The Academy on 290 and 1960 will have shipments coming this mon-thurs. Expect long lines and 1 box per customer!
