Houston P.D. Sgt killed in line of duty

Sgt. Brewster was shot and killed this evening after responding to a domestic violence complaint. He confronted the suspect in the street and was shot and killed. I did not know him, he joined HPD 16 years after I retired, however I patrolled that part of east Houston in the early 70's and know what he was dealing with. He leaves behind a wife and mother father. Prayers for his family.

Prayers for the officers family. There are a few sections of this town that might need to be policed from M113s. Thank God for those willing to do this and take on this risk. Many of us drill to protect ourselves and our families, but not so many whole communities.

We lost another in Arkansas last night as well.

The shooters in these cases deserve swift justice that involves a trial, an appeal, a chair, salt water and a massive dose of electricity. It should be the mandatory sentence for these cowards.
