Oh I wish I had one of those. I remember when they first showed up on the race circuit. The only thing I want more than that is a Cobra Daytona coupe or better yet, one of the original 289 Cobras like this one.

This was my daily driver for 14,400 miles. Genuine Motor Scooter Co. Buddy 125cc 9hp. I got sick and didn't get back to it when I recovered.

ECS

Sent from my little slice of Heaven.

Here's my 2012 2-door 4X4 Toy. Too small to ber a big truck, too big to be small.

I included a snapshot of a rear-ender last fall when I put only 1300 miles on it. $200 90's Kia did $5300 worth of damage. Driver of the Kia was both uninsured and unlicensed. With the police report, my insurance co waived the deductible.

Kept my old 2003 Tundra 2X, only 65k and it is hardlyy broke in.

My "daily driver" is NEW . . . to me that is . . . a 2006 Toyota Solara SLE convertible. I always wanted EXACTLY this combination when they were still making them: "Absolutely Red" paint, ivory leather interior, fully loaded. When I located the car online I knew I had to drive over and check it out . . . and I drove out with it.

Funny, the car reviewers call it a "frumpy" sluggish ragtop with a really smooth ride and ample back seat and trunk room.

Heck, I've had the convertibles that would beat the crapola out of you:
1963 Galaxie 500XL w/390 + 4-speed and posi-traction rear end (6-7 mpg of the old premium high octane) back "in the day." A VERY powerful sled!!!

1965 Ivy Green Mustang GT w/4bbl. 289 + 4 speed and posi-traction. 'Nuff said!!!

1983 white Mustang GT w/4bbl. cold air induction 5.0L H.O. + 5 speed + posi-traction + TRX suspension package w/tires and wheels + plus dark red factory Recaro type high back leather seats with the "tennis racket" type front headrests. Top-of-the-line when new, but brutal to drive on a long trip!

Yep, THIS time I wanted a smooth, quiet, comfortable ride w/o body shake, rattles . . . and a trunk + Toyota reliability. Heck, the top is TRIPLE LAYERED to greatly damp the outside noise when the top is up. It is pretty darn quiet and gets 28-30mpg on the highway.

Frumpy? Girl's Car? Hardly! I finally have a comfortable convertible that, IMHO, has a drop-dead gorgeous look too, inside and out!

HUNTING TRUCK . . .

1976 GMC Jimmy, modified w/locking front hubs, 350 4WD. I'll take a photo after I wash it in a few years! LOL Until then, here's a photo from a couple of deer seasons ago at the deer camp, next to my retro 1967 Frolic 17' "Ultra Special" model camper trailer. YEP, I LIKE MY SMITH AND WESSONS FROM THIS ERA TOO!

OLD FAITHFUL . . .
I got in in '72 while in the Army. It's an original Wimbledon White 1966 Mustang w/289 + C4 automatic w/factory air and original black upholstery. I've got about 350,000 on Old Faithful, and we took our honeymoon in it in October of '73.

I've pretty much retired it today. I fire it up every once in a while but she's earned her a nice dry spot in the "stable." I've promised it to my oldest son one day. It still turns heads . . . simply one of the most beautiful car designs ever made!

nice Black Sheep! I appreciate genuine musclecar that's not disco'd out. One of the first engine swaps I did was pulling a 440 out of a New Yorker, pulling a 383 Magnum out of a '69 SuperBee, installing the 440 in the 4 speed pistol grip B, and drag racing that night. A friend's car and done on a Saturday when I shoulda been studying. Drag racing the same night.... yee hah!!!!!!

not the same SuperBee but still B-utiful!

Hey Buda, just how strong is that 390? Anything like the Bullit car? ENVY and more ENVY.

Just my little ole 2002 PT Cruiser. We have had more fun with this little car since we bought it new. It has a few modifications and a little paint here and there.

Showing off with the "PTCruisers of Silicon Valley" at Boulder
Creek, CA.

Hanging out at Moffett Naval Air Station, Mountain View, CA

And heading for Reno for a club run........

2010 Chrysler Hemi!

We just took it to Washington state and back, about 3,500 miles. It averaged over 38 mpg going and 26.5 mpg coming back! And it'll really honk when you ask it to! It has about 34,000 miles on it now!

She's a beast! I'm lucky it's still in one piece. It was my first car and I did a lot of dumb sh** in it. Lots of memories in there though.

BTW - You guys are killing me with your mpg posts. My Jeep gets around 12.5 and the Mustang get 8.

Speaking of 68 Mustangs with a 390fe..............My friend had a 68 fastback, but he built a 428fe for it that made 525hp on the engine dyno. It was yellow with a back stripe and was on the cover of car craft magazine in the early 2000's for an article that was called "looks stock, hauls ***." That engine was really crammed into that car, but it really hauled butt. It did an 11 sec quarter mile on pump gas without any kind of power adders. It was a very nice car.

That car was setup for drag racing. We took it out for a spin to get lunch one day.

We entered the driveway to the restaurant pretty much at a 45 degree angle, with both DOT approved slicks burning away. A huge cloud of smoke followed us into the parking lot. The patrons of the restaurant got a front row seat through the large windows in the side of the building.

When we got inside I noticed the local cops eating their lunch:eek: Luckily they didn't say much. There is nothing quite like going for a spin in a classic muscle car:D

The same friend helped me install the 406 into my pickup. We took it out the afternoon that we finished it up, to put a few miles on the engine and make sure everything was working well. He wasn't too familiar with the area I live in. Headed down a 40mph street, he decided to open it up after the stop light. A couple seconds later he is doing 65-70 mph. He said it ran great. I mentioned the sheriff station that was half a block ahead of us and the driveway which they used most of the time that was within sight of my truck racing down a residential area. Of course he was comfortable with that. He was clicking off 100-120 mph between lights, when we took his car out. They crush cars when they are caught street racing in my area, by the way. As in literally put them into a junk yard car crusher as is, as a punishment. We must have hit that street while most of the sheriffs were out on patrol. At shift change, they can be pretty thick near my house.

I have a feeling that I would get into too much trouble if I had a lighter weight car with the same engine I am running in my truck. The extra weight tames it down a bit.
