It is a Remington Number 3, also known as a Hepburn. They were manufactured from 1880 to around 1908. I purchased the action at an auction three years ago and had it made into the rifle shown. The caliber is 38-50 Remington which is an old target round which I make from 30-40 Krag brass blown out to .375. I use the rifle to compete in Black Powder Cartridge Rifle Silhouette matches.
