How common is it for online ammo sellers to ship ammo via USPS?

About 10 years ago I ordered a case of handgun ammo from a dealer and received it in a USPS flat rate parcel.

Apparently on that one day a tree fell in a forest somewhere that no one heard it come down, so there must have been no noise at all.

I have got a lot of ammo from out of state vendors over the years. Always came via UPS or FedEx in a box marked D (which I assume is Class D Hazardous Material) and usually required an adult signature.

ORM-D is a classification used for hazardous consumer commodities in limited quantities, shipped domestically:

I sometimes see this on ammo:

I had to think about this one for a minute. I remember my postman thanking me for the bigger biceps, but bulk bullets were coming in a lot at the time. Had just started reloading.
