How do you carry your J's?

Just picked up an Uncle Mikes #3 pocket holster. Figured if give it a try at $12.99. So far so good! Keeps the pistol upright and in position. Much, much better than loose in my pocket.

Hopefully the Lobo will be here before Christmas... Can't wait!

what do you have your spare ammo in?

I carry it in the little coin pocket of my jeans or in a small pocket in my cargo shorts. I also have a supply (box of rocks) in each of my vehicles. Just in case.

The 642/442 may not be for everyone but for me it is about the "Sweetest" gun I have ever carried, I drop it in a Uncle Mikes or Blackhawk holster & in the pocket it goes, unnoticed, just make sure you take it out of the pants pocket before it goes in the wash!! My wife is not very happy when that happens!!

My 442 is carried daily as a back up on my body armor. When it's carried off the clock it's usually in a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster.

When I'm awake, I have either a 60 or a 640 in my right pocket. I use a DeSantis Nemesis. When I'm 'armed' I have an HK P30 AIWB. I always have a J-frame on me, ALWAYS. They are sort of like wearing underwear, it just becomes a part of your wardrobe.

I have one of those elastic belly bands with leather pockets on both sides. My 36 fits real snug in it right under my ribs. I don't see this as a popular way to carry anymore but it works and Midway sells those for cheap. You could probably get a K frame in one.

My 642 lives in my backpack or front pocket in an Uncle Mikes pocket holster (round bottom) or on my ankle in a Renegade Cozy Partner.

The second someone says they put on their j-frame BEFORE their underwear, I'm leaving this thread and not coming back.

my "J"

When Im not carrying my 686 4" Im carrying the 642-1 in a belt holster in the front under an untucked shirt. Its very comfortable to me

None of my pants pockets are big enough to hide a 638 well, and they're already full of stuff anyway (money, knives, flashlight). I rarely wear a jacket that I can guarantee I won't take off, which would require moving the gun. So I carry IWB in a Kholster. (It's like the Crossbreed - kydex & leather, 2 belt clips, tuckable - but less expensive.) I also have a tuckable Side Guard, but found that the single belt clip would let the gun tip sometimes.

Cover is usually a Hawaiian shirt in warm weather, and a sweater when it's cooler. I've about decided that my cover garments are loose enough that I probably could get away with OWB carry, and have been looking at pancakes from all of the usual suspects, but haven't made a decision yet.

The cylinder dig into your side any?

I have carried a pistol or revolver for close to 40 years...I never leave home with out one.....Kahr PM909 w/Gold Dot +P+ 9mm or my .38 Airweight, and my woods revolver is A 640-1 357 MAG....all carried in my left front pocket..the 38 airweight, and the 640 carried in a Mitch Rosen left front pocket holster.....the Kahr 9mm is the usual carry gun....being a cop I see all kinds of carry...ankle holsters...??? you have to bend over or what ever to draw your weapon......while I am standing there with my hand on either the smith or the Kahra in my left front pocket??? Before you can even draw I already have the .38 or 9mm out and on target.....your options are nil....either comply or be shot......simple

My home made leather wallet simply folds in half on the short barrel and rides deep in my front pants pocket.
The cylinder won't go down into the wallet so it doesn't fall to the bottom of my pocket,
and it stays up near the top so it's easy to grab.

At checkout time, the wallet comes out with a little wiggling.

It is a free country so do what you want, but I would say to anyone else reading this, please make sure you have a proper holster that covers the tigger. Not very wise to pocket carry like that.
