How do you conceal your L-Frame in the Summer?

In the summer I conceal the L Frame by switching to a J Frame. If I really want to carry the 4" S&W 686, I carry it in a belly band.

I carry my CS-1 in a Galco Speed Paddle strong side and cover it with a loose T-shirt or a non tapered collared shirt untucked. I wear shorts 95% of the time. Two Comp-2 speed loaders and a speed strip.

I have hung out all day with friends on numerous occations and never has it been spotted.

Works for me.

People don't expect someone would carry wearing shorts and a t-shirt.

In the summer? I just shrink the ol' metal K frame down to an aluminum framed J-frame snubbie and put it in a synthetic pocket holster that won't hold humidity (for the gun's sake).

A 15oz. Model 37 in the pocket beats an L-frame in the safe!;)

Truly, I can put this in my drawstring gym-type shorts that have a front pocket, and mow the lawn with my push mower. I do it all the time. Heck, about the only place this combo wouldn't work at would be a nudist camp.

Seriously, I don't think an L-frame could ever be effectively concealed in all conditions during the summer. However, your choice of a 386 IS an excellent choice for a defensive revolver that will fill the need well in ALMOST all situations . . . so GO FOR IT!

Good luck,

Tom
