I have a new laptop and I bought a Lexar Jumpdrive to use to back up the computer. I keep getting the message that it is not formatted for "NTFS". I don't know what that means. Did I buy the wrong thing or can I format it myself. Can anybody help me out?

Thanks

1. Open up Windows Explorer.
2. Find the drive letter which has been assigned to the thumb drive.
3. Right click on the drive letter
4. Select Format
5. Make sure NTFS is selected (NTFS means NT File System)
6. Choose Quick Format
7. And then click OK or Format to do it. I forget which it actually says.

Thanks for the help.Between what you guys said and reading some help messages that popped up I was able to get er done. Now I feel modernized. Now I'm going try to download some pictures. I feel so High Tech! Where do I insert the negatives to be developed?
