How do you guys like your 351c

How is the lanyard incorporated into the carry strategy, fotoman? I am wondering about how to use the lanyard ring myself.

It's not really. I mostly just put it on there because the lanyard attachment was there. If I carry this it's usually in a jacket pocket and if the pocket is deep I will lay the cord towards the mouth of the pocket to grab. But I could remove the cord and not notice it. I don't carry it much. It's more just an item for the collection. It is cool though.

If I were to use the gun to investigate a bump in the night I would put it around my wrist to maybe help keep someone from getting it out of my hand. Of course if I did get a shot off the flash and bang from this thing will likely disorient them and/or send them in the opposite direction.

Nice!

Just ordered the Hogue Monogrip(as opposed to your Ultra Compact Bantam)for mine and as well as the Desantis pocket holster.

[Note:anyone taking off the beautiful factory installed grips for the first time-be careful not to let the two metal dowels holding the grip together go missing-I almost did].

I don't like the whole zombie fetish but I did think the green glow-in-the-dark Hogue Bantam would look cool on this gun. I tried it and didn't like it so they went back. I love the Monogrip on bigger revolvers but for me this little guy with Bantams is great.

Unbelievable.... it just got sold...... right before I walked in. He still has the 351c.... but I want the hammer.. oh well... God's will, not mine...

Isn't that the way........:( I've had that happen several times. It will happen................keep on the lookout!! By the way, I got all excited when I saw this thread as I thought Fords intermediate big block 351 C (Cleveland) was gonna be shown or discussed. Was hoping to see it in an earlier Torino ('69 or '70 vintage).

Thanks... I had a couple of those Torinos back then...:)

My running pard in High school had a '70 and couldn't keep the tires from spinning. Looked hot but never could get traction........was fun once she was moving though...........Now I'm gonna go scout up one of these little pistolas at the LGS and have a littel look-see.

I chewed on missing the PD for the afternoon, went back after work and purchased the 351C.... I can work with it, works the same, no hammer to play with, which I know is actually better for pocket carry. I just liked the looks of the PD a little better but function for it's intended use is better with the C model.. I have some really nice SS grips or some other really nice grips I can put on it if I want to dress it up for date nite... :)

Congratulation! I bet you'll love it.

BTW, like a typical Ford 351, the S&W 351C/PD only hits on seven cylinders...

Thanks Stainz!! I just took a break from looking up your old posts on the Governor.... finally just got one in my possession last week... What a great gun that is. :)

I got a 351c to go with my 317 snub, a little more oomph from the mag round too. Now I am getting the idea of making it my "retirement gun", the one that I will be packing when duty is finally done. 7 rounds of CD ammo make quite an impression on watermelon and some other targets. I hope the action becomes a little easier with more shooting, but I am doing OK as is. Takes a really firm grip to be accurate now though.
All in all a really great gun from Smith-and w/o the lock!
And packing a couple of boxes of ammo is a lot easier than with the traditional .38 species, cheaper too.

Congratulations! Those grips look great, too! Now... good luck finding ammo...

Thanks Stainz... I've picked up a few hundred rds for now... that should get me going. Been carrying it today IWB, I love it!! Seems lighter loaded than my 5 shot 38sp airlite and I have 7 shots, not 5!!!

Man I haven"t been looking on this thread sice I posted. It's going for 5 mounths now. I didn't get the 351c but got the 43c 2 mounths ago. Had to send it back for cosmedic ressons, they cann't fix it.So I'm sill waiting for a new one. But I Still wount a 351c. I have a 63 2" & a 651 2". So Some day I'll have the 4 of them & get a 2 gun shoulder holster for the 63 & 651 & a lefty New york reload for the 43c 351c. Should be well armed for those critters.:D

I have carried the 351c with the 5-shot NAA Black Widow as a NY reload. 12 shots of short-barrel .22 magnum that totals about 21-oz fully loaded. Not bad.
