How do *You* J-frame Carry?

Here is an "old school" concealed carry holster, by the father of
concealment holsters himself, Chic Gaylord. Shown with my Charter
Undercover. Chic and some of the others put there maker mark in
the rough side of the leather, so it wears away over time. But real
Chic Gaylords can be identified by the "stitch signature".
BTW that is a Chic Gaylord gun belt.

My 442 and 340SC ride in Uncle Mike's or Sticky pocket holsters sometimes one in each front pocket. I feel that I'd prefer not having shells bouncing off the sidewalk like they would with my semi autos if I happen to be in a shoot situation. As much as we try to avoid going into the city sometimes you have to,

I will not disclose that information.:D

It's "for me to know and you to find out" only.

I'll just say. It gets to be carried 3 possible ways.:D

Or maybe 4.

Cheap, cheesy and yup , works well for me .
Sometimes hooked in the front pocket .
Sometimes IWB up front ,about 1 o-clock.

For the last month or so I've been using Barami grips on my 638 and loving it. I like it clipped to the front pocket. My only concern is keeping it covered. But it is secure, even when riding my bicycle, and much, much faster than fishing it out of a front pocket.

I prefer to carry in the same place regardless of what I am carrying. When the situation dictates a smaller revolver than I normally carry, it rides just aft of my right hip in a leather Sunday holster.

I carry my J Frames in a Simply Rugged Silver Dollar Pancake about 90% of the time. The other 10% I use a Simply Rugged pocket holster. I also have Kydex that I use for off body carry while I am working that rides in the CCW compartment of my backpack.

Don't limit yourself to one option. If a J frame is your primary carry, have a couple of options depending on the occasion and how you dress.

I use a Ruger LCP2 for church carry. If I dress casual, it is in a kydex IWB holster covered by a t-shirt. If I dress up (buttoned up and tucked shirt) it rides in a pocket holster.

If I had a j frame, it would be the same.

Another vote for a snubbyfan original.

Here's my new Snubbyfan original.....

"Bob L" - Yours was the pattern for mine...thank you!

For 20+ years, I carried J Frames in pocket or IWB at 3:30 or ankle. Bought this PHLster City Special Appendix carry (AIWB) holster and, frankly, it is a game changer.

I found that AIWB carry with this holster is incredibly comfortable and concealable. No printing. Works for casual dress with untucked shirt. Still need to ankle carry in business casual.

I have already snagged AIWB holsters for my Colt D Frames, Sig P365, and Smith 3953.

The revolver is a Smith 640-2 for NYPD .38 on J Magnum frame.
