How do you pronounce Hoppes?

Most anything with a French name is butchered in English...


Versailles, Des Moines, Chenois, Boise, Coeur d'Alene, etc....
 
There are an awful lot of deer,elk,cattle and beavers pissing in that stream on its way down to Golden,that’s why lol

Those with more discriminating tastes can identify how much of each. It is always pronounces Coors! Those in the know, never say the word BEER when talking about Coors!

Why is Worcester pronounced Wooster?

My old friend Frank (R.I.P.) was from Wooster, Ohio. Never having heard of the place, the first time he gave me his mailing address to write down over the phone, I actually wrote “Worcester”. Then he remembered that I was from Europe and added “Don’t spell that like the British”.
 
How about Los Angeles? In old Dragnet and other shows, they said Loss Ang-gliss, now I hear Loss Ann-ge-less. But what do I know, I don't live there...
