I posted a similar title in the Gunsmith Section but would like a little more exposure/response. My 669 likes to fling brass around 15 feet while all my other semi's discharge just a few feet. This seems a little excessive or is it within "specs" to do such? I just have to warn people nearby. I either say "incoming" or "fore". Thanks for any response.

There is nothing like a hot fired case down the front of your shirt, or pinged off the top of your head from a fellow shooter who is down the firing line. My 659 and 645 eject brass in about the 5 or so foot mark. It's all part of the sport......

I just ordered a replacement recoil spring from Midway. Hopefully it'll arrive before next Saturday's range visit.

If you think 15" is far, try the S&W10mm they like to achieve Low Earth Orbit! LOL
I'm using a 22lb in the 1006 and it still throws the cases of higher impulse loads 20'...

Ditto my 1006 and 1086 both have 22 lb recoil springs and even medium loads go 15-20 feet. It was probably 30 feet before I changed springs.

My 4566 and 6906 toss cases right over my right shoulder. If I placed a 5-gal bucket about 5 ft behind me they'd probably go right in. I'd try a new recoil spring if I were you.

My surplus CZ-82, on the other hand, flings cases across the county line. Hard to find the cases for reloading!

yeah same here dude - I'm glad I listened to you and got the 22lb spring

shipping those guns with the 17 or whatever came it with was retarded - if your hands aren't up to the task of manipulating the thing with the 22lb get a 380 lol

Same here with my Shorty 40. The 9's throw perfect but that 40 shoots brass like it shoots bullets! I have a couple of heavier springs so time to up the ante...;)
