How many is too many?

I have a fondness for short barreled revolvers. Most people under stand the need for one. You can justify having 2 by calling it a back up. What about 3 or 4 or more. Just something I was pondering this morning over a cup of coffee, while I was updating my inventory list with recent acqusitions.

there's enough guns/ammo.
i've even heard of not enough guns/ammo.
but i've never heard of too much guns/ammo.

According to my research, the term "too many" applies to a significant number of things. Some items included on this list are parking tickets, bills, ants, ex-wives, etc. However, I can find nowhere where guns can fall under this classification. That said, I intend to double my collection in 2009 by buying one more.

I guess 14 Smith revolvers with a barrel length shorter than 4" qualifies me with short barrelitis.

The shorter barrel 357s are just handier. And if properly aimed ,can hit just as accurately as the longer barrel ones.

As long as storage space and ammunition hold out, I'll continue collecting shorties and shooting them.

That's like saying how much money is too much to have? How much sex is too much? How many tools in my garage would be too much?

I have many times more than I need. However they are a good investment if they dont get stolen. Long as you got the bills paid and up with all other obligations its all right.
I am 67 and did most my collecting many years ago. But if I knew what I know now and was starting again in the sixtys, I would know exactly what the best of the best really was and what I need and get them. I probley would end up owning only a 1/5 of what I have, and that applys to the rest of my life and everything else I have! Life would be simpler and still have the best.
