How Many Oaths, Pledges and Vows Have You Given

Lighten up. I was just joking. I respect lawyers. This winter, on a really cold day, I saw a lawyer with his hand in his own pocket!

"You know lawyers wear mittens so no one can say they have pulled any slight of hand tricks." - legelegel

I just made that up. Well, I don't remember ever reading a joke like that anywhere. Actually that was very good on my part. :D

Do you count those made as the bed spins out of control??? Or those made whilst hugging the Porcelain god as you beg for life!

It depends on if there are any witnesses to these encounters and faithful promises of good behavior in the future and forever.

Them don't count....you wuz under the influence at the time....

For me, as a cop then as a husband.

Thing is I ain't been a cop for 25 year but I still take my oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Washington very seriously.

I guess it ain't what you say as much as who you are, and this is part of me.

Oh, and if I didn't take the oath to my wife seriously, I'd be a dead man!

Of the oath's I have given I think my Oath to protect the Constitution of the United States and my oath/vow to my wife and when I was licensed as a social worker to do no harm have been the most important oath's of my life. When I give my word it is my bond. My dad told me that the only you truly own is your name and if you do not honor your word you dishonor yourself and your family. I tried to teach my son the same thing.

I was commissioned in the US Army in 1955 and retired in 1975; I still feel bound by my oath to defend and uphold the Constitution.

Oath sworn at time of enlistment into the Marines..
Do marriage vows count ? :D

If they do, 3 of those..:(

Once sworn, still sworn--
