Not just global cooling.

There was a knuckleheaded professor at Stanford who cobbled up a bunch of population figures and loudly predicted gross overpopulation by the late 1990s, along with starvation, food riots, food rationing and probable widespread cannibalism.

Yup, he was still teaching there last I heard. Unless maybe he's retired to the same resort as Angela Davis, communist and murderess, who recently retired from the UC system. I'm damned glad to know my tax money has supported her all these years.
