I really dig the ring on a revolver and I have seen several RMs with them. Anyone have an idea how many were so equipped?

I like them too but have no idea how many revolvers shipped with factory installed lanyard loops. However, in my database of over 1,000 pre-war magnums I count only 3, plus 1 more that has an after-market loop installed. If you've seen a lot more than 3-4 I'd like to know about them.

I believe Kevin already has my Rm in his data base. Here are some pictures of the Lanyard ring. Unfortunately Mr. Jinks did not confirm whether it was factory in his letter. The serial no. is set to the left so that leads me to believe that it is factory plus my grandfather said he ordered that way. I Appolgize for the poor picture quality. I havn't quite mastered digital photography.

I believe the offset serial is indicative of it being OEM.

If it weren't for the serial location I would have drilled my 22-4 for a lanyard. That gun just screams for a ring.

What a coincidence. I went to a Sun Coast gun show this morning in Lakeland, FL, and there was a guy selling about 20 very nice vintage S&W's. One of them caught my eye, because it was was a RM like the one on the picture, with the lanyard ring. If I remember correctly, the price on it was between $3K-$4K.
