How much $$ do you pay for a gun transfer from ffl?

$15-$25 is the local going rate. The guy I normally use charges $20, but he is walking distance away. His business is almost entirely doing transfers, although he does do a small number of sales.

Mine charges $30 for transfer & receiving. In saying that the second gun you pick up is only $10. So to same money I always buy two guns within the same week. Christ it just hit me - it is probably cheaper to pay the $30 on one gun then to buy two guns at once.

My FFL charges $15 flat, less than a mile from my house. If you have a Texas CHL it's $10. I need a Texas CHL but all I have now is a non-resident Floridian because it had more benefits over and above the Texas at the time.

I get mine for free, since I've bought four guns from them in less than two years. However, I'd go as high as paying $25.00 if I had to?

Free with range membership. I can get it for 15 though at another gun dealer

My FFL charges me $30. Covers everything. I've known and have used him for a long time. He takes care of me morning ,noon or night. I'm gonna be sorry to see him retire in a couple of years.

I use the president of our rifle club. He does class III too. $35/$50 III, which includes the $10 Tennessee background check fee.

I can get it done cheaper but prefer to deal with the prez cuz I know he's not going to screw up the paperwork on class III, and he doesn't have any gun inventory of his own. I never liked the vibe of using a gun store to pick up a gun I bought somewhere else.

In California Pen. code 28055 says that a ffl may charge a fee not to exceed $10 for a private party transfer. Good luck getting any LE agency to enforce that. A lgs advertises $150 for out of state transfers. I called CA DOJ firearms unit and talked to an enforcement type about that NTE $10 fee. He said, well yes, technically you are right, but it dosen't really mean that. I came back with, then, ifI ever get caught with a unregistered assault weapons or new mags greater than 10 rounds, you said words in code do not have meaning. He went humm.

$25. $10 of that goes to the state police for the background check. Considering that my FFL is not a storefront and frequently ends up going to the post office to pick up my guns or arranges for family members to be home for the UPS guy, $15 is a pretty fair deal for the hassle. I'd have no problem paying 5 or 10 more if he ever asks.
