I reload using plated bullets that tend to cost about a nickel more than cast, so my costs could be reduced by using cast bullets. However, local indoor ranges have a strong preference for plated bullets because they are so much cleaner shooting and I prefer plated for the same reason.
38 spl. runs me about 15 cents per round to reload or 7.50 for a box of 50. BTW, don't own a 9mm but the costs for 9mm should be the same as the 38 spl. Add about 3 cents per round for 357 Magnum due to the higher cost for powder.
40 S&W costs about 19 cents per round, or 8.50 for a box of 50.
45 ACP costs me about 21.5 cents per round, or 10.75 for a box of 50.
308 Winchester is a bit more expensive that one might expect but that is due to my preference for Match Grade bullets that average about 52 cents each. Total cost per round for the 308 is running 84 cents per round, or 16.80 for a box of 20. If I were to use a cheap Hunting bullet I could probably cut the cost by 20 cents or a bit more per round.
BTW, it was the cost of 308 that initially drove me to reloading. Once there I decided I might as well start reloading my pistol calibers and 5 years of saving my brass gave me a good head start. Not really saving that much, however I am shooting a LOT more.
