I have seen LGS prices range by $100. Typically 730 - 830 here in ATL. 849 would be a bit pricey, but your market may be different, depending on where you are.
Thanks. Here in NJ every LGS I have been to just laughs at me and says they have heard these guns exist - but don't have any. They have all quoted me around $840. So, I guess I did OK as I found a dealer in FL who sold me one for $739.
A local shop has a new 2 5/8" PC627 UDR, aka the 'Blood Work' gun, for ~$840. Lovely gun - a PC Shop product, to boot. An 8-shooter, from moonclips or loose loaded, it's my favorite .357M/.38. Before I spent that much on a 686+, I'd sure rather have the UDR! Of course, I already have two... one bedside and one for the range. Here they are, sporting S&W wood grips, one in a nice Lobo holster on a cheesy belt:
The last 686 I saw in the same store was the 686SSR for the same $840. Sorry, the PC627 UDR is just a deal!
Thanks, but living in the People's Republic of New Jersey there is no way to get a carry permit as a regular person, so I rather have the 4" than a snub nose.
