I use to shoot almost every day growing up as a kid. Then came family - 2x a week. Now i'm retired and i was hoping to shoot 3x a week in the winter months. I took it down a notch and now find my self going once a month. Its the cost of ammo and the rent time at the range. Shooting outside in your back yard -that stopped 40 years ago.
I bet some of you live were you can shoot in your back yard.

My goal is to get to the range every other week. I'm not always able to do so, but I keep trying.

I am on the range 3-4 times a month, shooting in the backyard will get you to prison here in middle Europe faster than you can reload the gun ;-)

I have a few acres that border several thousand acres of BLM land to my north. I do a 'pasture fence patrol' every day with my dogs. I normally fire a couple of cylinders or a magazine or two at targets of opportunity.........I have to keep those ant hills under control, and a couple of coyotes or prairie rats on occasion. I have a 100 yard range near the house so I do a full qualification course of fire every week or so. When there is snow on the ground I shoot revolvers, I hate picking up brass under the snow.

I am long retired and I live where I can shoot from my back yard
and with no wife around I have been known to shoot out of a back window when it is raining. I have a large natural hill backstop behind my house and no close neighbor. I have slowed shooting some due to eye problems though.:(

In warmer weather usually get to the range three times a week. Being retired and rolling my own ammo really helps! In cold weather only about once a week as long as there is not a lot of snow.

I go to a shooting range every one to two months or so. I'll take multiple firearms and as much ammo as I can carry.

We shoot airguns in the backyard once or twice a week.

In my younger days, as a single man, I'd shoot every other week and spend $200 a month on ammo.

For several years I shot a match on Monday.Tuesday,Thursday and Friday night.500 Rounds practice on Wednesday.
Than a Match on weekend.
At 70 years old I have slowed down, but still practice 2 or 3 times a week about 300 rounds total.
Shoot a match on Thursday night and a monthly IDPA MATCH.

I usually shoot at least 4 days a week (Tues -Fri). My wife and I go shooting on Sat if I don't have a match that weekend. I'm retired and load my own ammo. I've adjusted the budget to accomplish this. No vacations in tropical countries, no motor home and no golf. (didn't much like any of those options anyway;)) I figure if a person wants to do something, they can figure out a way to do it.

I'm not retired and at this time of year the days are pretty short. I have a 50 yard range at home. With work and all the other commitments I shoot about 2x per month.

Revolvers and bolt actions are easier than semis. Don't have to put out a tarp to catch brass.

I've been trying to go once a week but not this week with all the hunters playing hookey from work and sighting in their deer rifles.
I'm having to get some practice in again as I missed alot of shooting during two back surgeries the last two years. It's easy to get out of practice with handguns especially but the old skills are coming back.

The last 2 months its probably been every other week. RNge fees are rudiculous. I can take about a 20 minute drive and get out into the desert where a lot of people go shioting. I have my own targets. Ammo is not really an issue but I like to replenish what I shoot. Its pretty hard with .22 sometimes.

1-2 times a week sometimes more in warm weather
monday nights cowboy action shooting practice thursday target revolver practice and any weekend i find time.
i roll and cast my own ,i highly recommend anyone who shoots a lot to do the same my costs are down around $9 /100rnds. 38spl 44 about $1.50 more. if i buy bullets its about $20-22 /100rnds.
at that rate my partners' mastercaster and luber/sizer will pay for its self in about 2 years give or take, with both of us using it

My shooting has been sporadic over the last few months. I try to get to the range a couple of times a week but lately it's been more like three or four times a month, sometimes two or three times a week and then not going for a few of weeks. A back problem is the culprit.

Not enough... I certainly miss the days of being places where I could walk out and shoot or at least drive a short distance, setup targets off some dirt road and shoot. There's a large indoor range close by but only 25yrds and excessively restrictive (no reloads, no rapid fire, no holsters blah blah). There's at least 3 good outdoor gun clubs I have considered joining but they are just not convenient each being 40+ minutes from where I currently live. That does not stop me from going to matches but makes it a bit undoable with certain membership initiation requirements. Now that I think I am here to stay in central FL (roving software engineering contractor much of last 10 years) I'm finally willing to buy another house. Whether the wife knows it or not range location is a major selection criteria :D
