I have the good fortune to shoot every Thursday whit a great bunch of guys and Gals. the only time I missed any shooting was this past December and first 2 weeks of January as Covid had me in the hospital and I had a bit of a struggle getting my lugs back up to par having COPD and all... but I digress I seriously shoot every Thursday no matter the weather.
In a 2020 I had the opportunity to buy a massive stock pile of primers and reloading supplies, so I hit the ATM took a thousand mile road trip and came home with 25 thousand primers and 80 pounds of assorted powders.
so I have plenty of ammo to feed my massive pile of (what I call)
JUNK.

Back in my heyday (late 90's-early 2000's) I shot pistols twice a week.

Friday night Bullseye, Sunday practice, and Wednesday night reloading.

After my beloved brother passed in late 2003, I lost the passion.

After getting a promotion in 2020, and no longer having to work Saturdays, I started back to shooting pistols almost every Saturday, minus weather, other obligations, etc.

This year, when the weather gets a little nicer, I want shoot rifles more.

Not often enough the past 3 years, the local indoor range was closed for months, then a new owner. New owner runs it like a "good old boys network" No more family nights, only one league and if you can't hit a bulls eye at 25 yards off hand forget it. Former owner had various leagues, sometimes ladies only, sometimes rimfire only, and always fun different targets. Back then I was there twice a week. Now maybe twice a month.

With CV19 not nearly as much as I would like. I plan to retire soon, and I want to start competitive shooting in some manner or form. I have to get the reloading room finished and start working up the appropriate loads for whatever I decide to take up. I wish I had stocked up on more SPP's, that 10k will go fast shooting regularly. I have plenty of brass bullets and powder.

Two years ago, Before covid-19 weekly range was the norm. Now most often it's every other week. Covid has changed many things it seems.

Not near as much as I once did. Just a few years ago I shot once a week plus an IDPA match monthly.
Then in 2019 I got sick. Almost died and was left with COPD. Then Covid hit and I went into hiding. One thing after another. Yada, yada, yada. I haven't been in months.
But spring is coming, the weather is getting much better and I need to get out of this damned house.

I'm probably getting out to shoot about once a week at the indoor range above Harrisburg. It's a bit of a haul but it beats being out in the cold or not shooting at all for months at a time. In May the Wednesday night .22 league will be starting up at the club in Maryland which runs into October.

used to shoot pins every Monday with my dad back in the 90's... shifted to a Thursday evening high power CMP "practice" group... Thursday was "Bring Your Gun To Work Day" BYGTWD... then one summer 2 in the group passed within 24 hours of each other and another moved out of the state... it fizzled that summer.. now if I make it once a quarter I am lucky...

Since my main shooting buddy is still working for a living and there are no indoor ranges close, our weekly shooting days dwindle in the winter. By the time he gets off, we drag the gear, we set up the gear, it's too dark.

The good news is that the days are getting longer and we should be able to resume weekly shooting soon.

Well, if it doesn’t matter how much you shoot,,, I shoot every day. I pick up an OLD Stevens .22 and blast a full pop can to smitherines with 5 .22 shorts. Makes my day.

goof balls on the weekends is an entire other topic, when my SA emp 9mm came in on a Friday afternoon I could not wait till next Thursday so home it came field striped cleaned and bright and early Saturday morning off to the range.
shot the first ten rounds and noticed I had 15 holes in my target.

I belong to a club about 10 miles from my house. Range out to 300 meters. I try to go once a week, weather permitting. Usually finish up the day with a cheeseburger platter at the club house bar. Also do a lot of plinking up in the state forest, only a couple miles from my house.

I belong to a club with five excellent outdoor ranges that are never crowded, and in fact since I'm retired and go during the day when working stiffs are at the grindstone, I'm usually there all alone.

In decent weather I'm at that range 3-4 times a week and can spend the good part of a day there. I reload all my ammo and that helps but what has really made an impact is that I got into black powder so I never run out of ammo.

In the winter there are times when the weather is bad enough that it cuts into my range time so then I hit the local indoor range once a week or so just for some pistol practice.

I feel very lucky to have both facilities close by and inexpensive.

When we lived in Washington state from 1986 to 2016 I shot regularly including indoor match pistol shooting, long range rifle, shotgun, etc.
Had a wonderful gun club just 20 minutes from our home.

Moving to the Prescott area changed that as there are no gun clubs in the area that have all of those shooting discipline opportunities.
Yes, you can go out in the hills and shoot which is certainly fun to do, but having a good club is sorely missed!

That is soon to change though.....we are making a move this summer to another state and I will have a shooting spot literally right outside my back door! Pistol, shotgun, long range rifle all on the property!! Woo Hoo!!

Congratulations Tom! That’s would be the best range to have. Of course you might need to acquire more ammunition.
I actually shoot more in the winter here. At least once a week because of our bullseye league. Summer has some other things going on but still go about three times a month.
I am one of the lucky ones with a very good range close by.

Weekly at the Friday night pistol league. Then pretty much one day every weekend at various matches. In the past, I enjoyed heading out on the logging roads and finding a pit to shoot in. Now I'd rather go to one of the private clubs I belong to. I have to say, that a covered firing line and woodstove make for "luxurious" outdoor shooting.
