They are really stiff, generally, and are so small they feel even stiffer.
For their intended use, bullseye shooting, a safety isn't needed. You load it when commanded and shoot it until empty.
The thumb safety is why I have never used one for a field gun. I think if someone made a replacement one, with a bigger, longer pad, say something like a Colt 1911's, they would sell at least one!
