How to carry an N frame (56k death)

I just had Milt Sparks switch my VM II from a 1911 to a N frame model for my 4" 610. Wyatt, have you thought about a modeling gig? I have VM IIs for both of my 1911 models and carry up to 10 hours a day - with comfort.

I remember reading this thread back when. Something must have come up then or I would have posted. Great pics and info. Thanks.

Folks have carried N frames for generations. I understand the 3 1/2" .357s were standard for the FBI back when, and their uniforms look a lot like a suit and a tie.

A 3 1/2" to 4" .357 or .44 Special can do as well today as in the past. Other calibers worh as well, but these are what I carry in my old Sparks VM-2 or newer Mernickle PS6DA.

When I get tired and catch myself thinking how "heavy" the 4" N frame is, I just remember that I could lose just five pounds - holster the Smith - and still be hauling around less weight. And, I dont hear this very often, but our troops are overseas fighting in 130+ degree heat - while wearing sixty to one hundred + pounds of gear.

I am not going to let myself whine that two pounds of good N frame is too much for me to carry. I will Man Up, keep my head on straight, and remember what is, and is not, important here. The safety of my family is more important than my being two pounds less comfortable.

And, like I have also said before, medical or similar issues are different. These can be legitimate reasons.

My post, my opinion.

Holy smokes,Wyatt! Why do you think you need to carry that hand cannon around? Do you live in a bad neighborhood or do you overdose on dirty harry reruns like I do?

If someone is trying to kill you, would you rather have a .44, or a .22?

In reality, if someone is close enough to kill you, it matters not what size of slug hits his brain. But the brain is a small target compared to his a*s.

Just got the VM II and tried the 610 in it and whoopy-doopy it be-umm comfortable! Will take some break-in but it is really amazing how much difference a quality holster makes in a carry method (IWB). Another thumbs up for Tony and the crew at Milt Sparks!

I'm currently hauling my 5" full underlug 629 in a VM-II and I totally agree. It's a great holster!
