How-to: clean firing pin?

I have a S&W M&P 45. I would like to know the procedure to disassemble? clean firing pin and area inside.

There is no "firing pin" per se. The striker assembly, however, can be removed and the striker and the striker cavity flushed clean.

After removing the cover plate, and depressing the striker block, the assembly can be removed.

Wear safety glasses. Do not lubricate the parts or the cavity after cleaning. I would not recommend complete disassembly of the striker assembly.
