Alright, now that I have a little time, here it is:
There are two ways to embed a picture on a site like this. Both end in the same result which is some code in your post. For ease of practice, I'm going to use the Smith & Wesson Forum logo at the top of the page as an example. It looks like this when inserted as a pic:
The code looks like this:
http://smith-wessonforum.com/images/misc/header_logo.jpg[/IMG
I left off the last ] so you could see the actual code. The key here is the IMG tags.
The picture needs to be on the internet somewhere. It doesn't matter where. I use Photobucket. It's free and works great for storing pictures. Plus they provide all the code you'll need to put pictures into forums like this.
What you do is:
[LIST=1]
[*]Right click on the picture you want.
[*]Click on Properties.
[*]Copy the URL or location address. If using Firefox, right click then click Copy Image Location.
[*]Then paste it into the post and put [img] in front and at the end of the URL.
[/LIST]
It will look something like what I posted above.
Now, there is a slightly easier way. Copy the location address (URL). Then click on the little
button. It will open a window where you can paste the image location. Then, when you click OK, it will insert the code for you. This button is available in the Quick Reply window.
The process is super easy once you learn how to "talk" to the post. It can be used for any picture you see on the internet. That's how I got the race car. I just copied the location from the picture and inserted as described above.
Any questions?
There is a lot more you can do if you know html stuff, but I'll just stick to pics for now. Give it a try. Reply to this and put the Smith & Wesson Forum picture in your post.
