Can one of yall tell me how to get the leaf out of a rear sight assembly such as the K or N frame sight.

I see the windage adjustment on the right.
I also see something on the left.
Does it come out?
How?

See YouTube. Midway has a video there and also on their website. I also believe the there is info in the FAQ's in this Forum.

Replacment blades usually come in a kit with a new screw and nut. It requires you to break the old screw in order to remove. There is a detent plunger/spring in the screw head and you need to be careful you don't let it fly off when you remove the screw.

good help

that is the help I needed.
It is odd that the screw must be broken.
I take it that if you have extra leaves then you must have a supply of screw if you plan to change them often.

If you order from a web like like Midway or Brownell's or S&W you'll see that the blades are usually sold in kits with the screw and nut. i would recommend that if you order the parts consider ordering a new detent and spring (if they don't come with the kit...I can't remember). At least one that I changed had the original detent and spring jammed into the screw shaft and I couldn't get it out. I would actually order at least two so when the first one goes flying off into space, you have a back-up. If you're not in a great hurry, I would take the old blade off first and measure the height so you order the right one. I've installed two or three without ordering the special two-prong tighting tool. Good luck.
