How to take off MOE Handguard?

Hello all, I just got a 15-22 MOE and I'm unsure how to take apart the MOE Handguard to install a MOE MVG. The directions of the MVG state to take off the bottom portion of the handguard, but I didn't think I would have to...

Any insight would be super appreciated!

I'm pretty sure that you'll need a barrel nut wrench to remove the handguard.

Is it the Mlock MVG? Those can be installed without taking the handguard off. On a side note the 15-22 MOE handguard is a one piece handguard and will only be marginally easier to install the MVG with it removed.

The Tacticool . 22 barrel nut spanner and barrel clamp are excellent tools for any 15-22 owner to own though.

The MOE MVG will not work on any stock version of the 15-22 that I am aware of.

You need the MOE RVG for the 1st gen version, (picatinny rail) or the M-Lok MVG for the 15-22 sport, (2nd gen M-Lok handguard)
