Almost 7 years ago Mrs. Chief38 and I re-modeled our Kitchen and wound up purchasing high end Stainless Steel appliances. Soon after the kitchen was done we quickly learned we made a mistake by going with stainless steel and should have bought Black ones. It is almost impossible to keep stainless appliances looking great and we have tried waxes, glass cleaners, dedicated stainless steel cleaners, automobile products and pretty much every other product I could think of. We absolutely HATED the stainless appliances so much we were actually toying with the idea of selling them and buying black versions - except they were not available in the models we wanted after looking.
Fast forward a few months later and one of my friends told me a little secret. He said WD-40! After a week or so I perfected the method. Before using WD-40 get some Sprayway Glass Cleaner and thoroughly clean the stainless appliance to remove all traces of waxes, sealers, other cleaners etc. After you clean the stainless (doesn't matter if the glass cleaner leaves streaks or not - it will go away when WD-40 is applied) use a BRAND NEW MICROFIBER TOWEL, apply WD-40 to the MF towel and slowly go over the stainless appliance with it in a broad slow pattern using the deeper side of the MF towel. The WD-40 will quickly evaporate leaving a satin smooth streak free and fingerprint free stainless steel surface. You will smell the WD-40 for only a few minutes and then it will be gone - but the results will last a week or so and done weekly your appliances will look Factory new. Ours are now almost 7 years old and they still look new. Friends and neighbors constantly ask us how we get our stainless appliances to look like that.
So there it it Boy's & Girls - a new use for WD-40 BUT REMEMBER to clean thoroughly BEFORE applying it or you will just be smearing everything else around. Best results are achieved with a MF Towel (the Costco brand works well) and seal it in a Zip-Lok baggie to keep for the next time.

If you have Stainless Steel Appliances that are driving you crazy - try this! Let me know what you think.
***** IMPORTANT*****
Do NOT light a stainless steel stove for a few minutes after treating it as the WD-40 is flammable. It evaporates quickly though. ONLY do outer surfaces!! Common sense will apply.
