Newbie to S&W, Just picked up a Shield 40. Haven't had a chance to fire it yet, Going to clean and lube it correctly first.

The hardest thing to find to me will be a proper IWB to carry it with. I'm not tall and have a belly, And in Fl it tends to get a bit warm so experimenting I will go.

Welcome from Wisconsin!

You'll probably wind up with a drawer full of holsters like most of us, LOL.

Howdy from South Carolina, and welcome to the forum.

My husband and I have worn the Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 2 and 3, for over a year. It uses Neoprene (wet-suit material) as a backing, which is comfortable against the skin, and impervious to sweat.

Welcome!!

Welcome from Wellington, FL. Lots of great people and information here for you. Best wishes!

Welcome to the forum and good luck on your holster search. You have found a good source of info with this forum.

Welcome! Im also in Central Florida, been here 10 years since leaving the Peoples Republic of New York :)

I have a M&P 9c, close in size to your Shield. I am 6ft, and a stocky 250 - kinda barrel chested. For concealment I use a Galco King Tuk IWB. If you want to tuck an outer shirt in it actually hides the gun well, as long as you dont wear form fitting shirts. I have taken to wearing very light sweat wicking Under Armor style shirts, and covering them with a very light untucked collar shirt. It gives a casual but not sloppy look and I am very comfortable in most weather.

I also suffer from the affliction called NoAssatAll :D and found that wearing some firearms caused my pants to weigh down, no matter how tight I pulled my belt - especially when wearing the sliky no sweat shirts. I actually tried a pair of suspenders and they are amazingly comfortable, and the untucked outer shirt hides them so you dont feel like a grandpa. :)
