My wife just bought a SD9VE herself. Nice little pistol. Handy for her to carry.
As far as finishing that LTC, you might as well. It's a whole lot better to have something (especially like that license) and not need it, than to discover one day that you need it and don't have it or have to wait 90 days to get it.
