I have been lurking this forum for years, as this has been the best place for information (if not THE only information) on some of my, I won't say unpopular, but lets say less than common semi auto's. I've read so many threads, I didn't realize I wasn't a member until I tried to recover username and password. Go figure. As far as my firearms go I have my old reliable tack driver 639, I bought from a shipmate in Spain. A 645 I bought from my brother in law. My 686-5, I bought to replace the one (686 no -) I sold back in the early 90's, and finally, the wife's 642, that has somehow found it's way into my jacket pocket. Needless to say I'm a fan of the stainless guns. I'm getting more interested in revolvers as of late, and I'll eventually add more as long as there's room in the safe.

As far I my background, I retired from the Navy in 2006 after 20 years, mostly amphibious ships and units. My only shore duty was Military Police (NOT SHORE PATROL) from 93-96. So, 17 out of 20 years at sea, hence 'Salty One". The Lord has blessed me with the ability to retire as a Master of Service Technology from the local Harley-Davidson after 16 years just recently. I find myself with time on my hands, so now aside from riding, I'm getting back into my guns, shooting, maybe even reloading. We'll see what comes, as I settle into not having anything to do. Any way great to be here.

I'm BARELY across the state line south of you in Alabama. I cant quite throw a rock to Tennessee from my house, but I could lob a .44 bullet out of my old model 29 with no trouble. Where in Tennessee are you?
