Hummmm..."Live" Audio of how it went down?

What say I? I say LE did what it had to do in taking down an armed killer who was barricaded in a cabin and showed no inclination of surrendering or ending his violent ways. If the PC folks didn't like LE trying to smoke him out, then maybe the PC folks should have gone up there to negotiate with the individual. Heaven forbid LE uses deadly force to end such a terrible scenario.

It was so compelling when I first heard it that I wasn't sure, with todays technology, that it was real or not. No question in my mind that he deserved what he got.

From the outset, it was clear that the end was going the way of Butch & Sundance. The shame is that good people were lost simply doing their jobs.

All I have to say is the conditions for the reward was capture and convict. Then if the police decide to end the stand off by burning him out they ought to pay the reward anyway.

THATS what you got from listening to that? Maybe this wasn't such a good idea...

Efficient. That's what I take away. Low risk to any additional officers. Insurance will cover the property owner (you think?).

The guy made his own bed. Bed time for a murdering creep.

.my take ... Im kinda conflicted.
Yeah the cretin earned an exit with high thermal properties, or perhaps the wrong end of a rope, or even something out of someones dark ages dungeon collection like and iron maiden or a rack.
if the community had converged upon him, yeah I'd expect this and turn a blind eye.
But these are the police ... the chosen ones who should adhere to a higher standard.
I can't quite find resolution here.

I don't worry much about the Civil Rights of someone who has proven to be a calculating, cold-blooded murderer. I guess I'm just wishing he'd gotten his reward a good bit sooner. Thankfully, there will be no appeals stretching on for year after year.

He was an AWOL ex cop and former military.

He said he would tagret uninvolved cops and their families.

Thats willful violence//// period.

I cannot believe cnn had shouts about
the parralels to a similar J. Foxx film which
was incrediblely, historically innnacurate...

Seemingly sedicious, thanks Q. Tarrin...

Ruined my fav. arch. site of LA for me...

A lot of this brutality is exagereated by
lack of compliance between arrested individuals
or some rare serious disorder on the other side.

I hope the folks that lost their cabin don't get raked over the coals , so to speak.

The insurance company will say it's the police departments fault and they should pay. The PD says the state should pay.

Perhaps the folks should get their cabin rebuilt out of the reward funds?

I just want to know if they had one of those "no knock warrants" we're always hearing about. If so, I think they should instead have knocked or waited for him to come out to go to the grocery store or something and then arrested him peacefully or just shut the water off and waited until he got thirsty.

He would have just shot them thru the door.

Put yourself in their position.
Did they have other choices? Sure.
Did they show him any less compassion
than he showed his victims?
I don't think so. One more innocent person
killed is not worth it.

I think the defense here is that LE intention was to "flush him out" with fire. Nothing on this audio contradicts that. It sounds as though Dorner chose to take his own life. I believe their tactics to be equal to the threat and totally just.
I'm sure someone out there will rant about his civil rights blah, blah, blah.....
