You all rember that ryme as a kid.He had a great fall. I just finished the Thread on dropping a gun .( which I done and posted on thread). It got me thinking how many of have fallen with a carry gun on them at the time. I can tell you my last one was the other night I tripped over. bush in yard at night. I had my Xds 45 at 3:00 at the time. I have fallen many times with a firearm on hip or pocket. Usally in yard. Some falls hard some like last one not so much. Ok if you havent read the dropped gun thread yet read it.Its a good read . And then spill it here about falling. Its ok where all family here . Mine is a life time clumsy thing and now health ballance issue.

Have fallen out of a tree stand and broke a rib, was hunting near Lake Chelan WA and fell of the top of some giant moss covered boulders broke rifle scope, tripped and fell many times when bird hunting. Not one time did I discharge the firearm.

I fell on a gravel road chasing my dog (in fun) a couple years back.

Ended up with 15 stitches in the heel of my right hand, 5 or 6 in my left, and lacerations on left knee and rib cage.

My Glock 26 never got a scratch nor was it ejected from my AIWB holster from Dark Star Gear.

(I don't sprint on gravel anymore. At least not to chase the dog.)

I fell while hiking on the Grand Mesa, slippery slope. Later realized that my 66-1 had fallen out of the holster. Figured I would never find it but retraced my steps and found in on the hillside. I have dropped guns on multiple occasions over the years.

I've fallen numerous times when hunting but have always managed to hang onto the firearm. I came very close to losing one time when deer hunting a island on the Mississippi river. I was paddling a canoe and had the rifle on my back, the upper rivets on the sling broke and the rifle went barrel first into the water. I just had time to catch the sling as it was sliding across my chest all said and done it was dragging behind the boat completely submerged with me just barely hold on to the end of the sling.

I got knocked over a guard rail and down the slope of a railroad overpass during a ground blizzard. My gun came out of a snapped holster. After I got the wreck all cleared up I spent two hours crawlin' around in the snow to find it.

Funny part of that one was the little old lady who's car was wrecked was sitting in my Patrol car when I got hit. When I got in the car to radio about the hit and run car, she said, "That *** din't even slow down. We gonna go get him? If you're hurt, I'll drive!!"

That's a hoot, did she happen to look like this?

Took a big scary short ride down a hill with my trusty 870 in my hands once. I was chukar hunting in about 10 inches of snow, side hilling on a very steep hillside and stepped into a deep spot. I ended the trip upright with the shotgun still in both hands, but the receiver had taken the brunt of the slide when it hit the rocks below the snow. This was 20+ years ago and the 870 still wears the scar proudly. That scar still brings back good memories of that day in the snow, bird hunting with friends and a great dog.

I can’t say the City but a friend took a City sniper rife on a hunting trip. As the story goes they tiled the canoe and he wasn’t fast enough to grab the rifle before it fell in the river. Needless to say he was in deep poop when he got back. They never recovered the rifle.
