Any board members have a fall with either firearm in pocket or else where ? I have a few times being clumsy for a lifetime. Plus its way I walk too. Never really picking up feet. I have one hip replament and ankel issuses too. Fallen in yard and else where. To date no real harm but have had a few hard ones. Btw. It should be Humpty Dumpty lol

In the deep woods I've miss-stepped a few times and gone down with a 12 ga. Maintained a safe muzzle direction through the entire process of the fall. I defoliated some near-by flora with some colorful language in the process too.

I had a buddy whos pants fell down and did a face plant as we chased an armadillo through the woods. I'da laughed if he wasn't armed. ;)

Had a couple over the years. Was out hunting and had a Model 29 4'' on my right side. Went down hard but luckily on my left side.

Another fall while deer hunting, I was carrying a Belgian Browning .358 and I went down, landed painfully on my butt and lower back. Manged to keep the rifle in the air and no damage to the gun. At that point the hunt was over and after I got back to my feet I slowly hobbled back to my truck. :(

The only time I remember going down with a firearm is while Pheasant Hunting. I was hunting with my Browning A-5 and sort of chasing a Pheasant that had not gone up yet who was running through the tall cover. I did not realize I was entering a mucky patch and my boot got caught in the muck, went down with muzzle in safe direction, safety on and wound up putting my first character mark on the gun's stock.

When I returned home after the trip I steamed out the dent as best as I could and used high gloss Poly Urethane to match the Browning 1950's high gloss finish. It actually came out pretty good if I do say so :).

That Pheasant was pretty lucky that day!

Pheasant hunting in Iowa some years ago with my son on a preserve. Had a guide with several dogs. Stepped in a hole hidden in the bent over grass with a SXS. Went down to my knee in the hole, but kept the muzzle up! First thing was to break open the action, shells dropped out. Guide stepped over, asked if I was Ok. Said Ok, but needed some help getting out! When he got me out, he said he appreciated the way the gun stayed pointed to the sky, away from his dogs and him! My son was still laughing at my situation, but his OU was broken open, over his arm. Guide smiled at him, and said like father like son!
Took a break for water, and the guide regaled us with stories of other hunts and negative gun handling he witnessed. As it was a week day and other areas of the preserve were empty, he took us around to search for left over birds, and any wild birds hanging around.
He certainly earned a nice tip that day!

Was not I, but a while back someone was counseling others NOT to carry in the 4 to 8 o'clock position, as he fell hard to the rear landing on his EDC and sustaining an injury that required medical treatment.

While hiking a couple years ago I stepped on a big rock that shifted and tossed me to my knees. I was armed, but it was safely in its holster and did not hit the ground or suffer any ill effects.

I only suffered a sore knee and a hit to my dignity when two middle aged women asked if I needed them to help me up.
