Hyper-sensitivity to man-made scents?

I'm getting more sensitive to smells as I age. Maybe it's me!
But scented candles and potpourri make my sinuses plug up faster than you can slam shut a door.
I avoid gift shops because of it. Same thing goes for the fertilizer and insecticide aisles at Lowe's and such stores. Makes me feel like I'm in a gas chamber.
But I really don't mind the smell of a skunk or that of newly spread cow manure in the fields. They have that certain fresh country air aura about them.

My Wife gets Migraines if exposed to perfumes for more than a few minutes and I get them from the smell of certain drawing erasers. Go Figure.

SOME PREFER THE SMELL OF B.O. I GUESS.

Do men wear scented after-shave lotion any more? I never have, and I don't know any who do. My father always used Aqua Velva after shaving (he used a blade razor) and I could always tell when was around from the smell.

Whether it's being worn or not, it's selling in the billions of $'s worldwide. Wearing aftershave or what type of razor you use has nothing to do with MANHOOD in my book. ALL the he-man types shave with Bowie knives and use battery acid for after shave I suppose. So what are you saying about your Father? I almost always get compliments from Old Spice. It FEELS GOOD after shaving, more than SMELLS GOOD to me.

Back at my old job, we had a character who apparently wasn't fond of personal hygiene, so he would mask it with a cologne we referred to as "Bug juice". PU.

My pet peeve is our local coffee shop, one of the servers has on too much scented hand lotion and she presses down the cup lid with her hand...good way to ruin the best part of waking up.
