I was half asleep but I heard on the news....The government just paid out to illegals over 4 billion or was it 4 million I think Billion ..Makes ou feel warm and fuzzy dom't it......I guess they will get voting cards next.....At 73 or 75 this year ( I Choose to forget) I seem to rermember working or minimum wage in the 50's and darn glad to get it....I decideed that the Marines w2re abetter deal..Born to early I guess!!!! God Bless America......BTW Happy Easter to all on the forum....Yep I still believe.....

Has the tax law changed?? A number of years ago, I failed to have anywhere near enough withholding taken out and owed quite a bit at tax time. The IRS fined me just about what the interest would have been had I kept the extra in the bank.
I find it much more satisfying to have them write me a check rather than the other way around.

I'd rather pay every year than give the govt an interest free loan.

^^^ This is exactly right. I always try to get mine as close to even every year, my target is to get a refund or pay no more that a couple hundred dollars.

Unfortunately, this year I'm getting a refund of around $9,800 due to some taxes I paid on investments that did well. I say unfortunate because I did give the government an interest free loan . . . that's priniciple that wasn't available to me and interest my money could have been making for me.
