I am really glad to be back

Glad you made it home. Do what the doc says and you will be up and "running" in no time. Please take care of yourself.

That was sure a close call. I'm so glad you weren't too badly injured.

I second getting one of the "Help, I've fallen and I can't get up," devices. I got one at the insistence of my wife and Primary Doc.

Sorry to hear about your problems, glad that you're back with us.

A little PT and you should get the use of your legs back.

Not to sound like one of those commercials, but it's true that falls ae the most common cause of injury among older people.

I read between 50-75 ambulance reports a week, plus I compile reports for client agencies. Both numerically and as a percentage of ambulance calls "Falls" are the largest call type for every agency.

"Falls" can range from a simple lift assist for someone who can't get out of their chair to something like or worse than Ancient_One experienced.

One thing that I tell people when speaking about fall prevention is that those little area rugs that older people seem to like are like land mines for the elderly. Slip on one of those and you could break a hip, crack your skull, or have some other sort of serious injury.

Be careful going up and down stairs as well.

Good luck with home health. I spend two days in the hospital in July and when they showed up they wanted to rebuild half of my house because of all of the unsafe things they found. True some of the things they found made a lot of sense but a lot of it was total government over kill

I'm so glad to hear from you Sir, and that you are gonna be ok! You are truly missed when we don't hear from you.

I am praying for your quick, uneventful and complete recovery. Please consider getting one of those devices that you wear and can contact folks that love you and/or equipped to respond to your call.

Please keep us posted on your recovery progress.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

Good to hear your back on the mend. I lost a good friend from Moscow, ID about a week ago who was having heart problems while visiting family in Hayden Lake, ID. They transported her to three hospitals before finally getting her admitted here in Spokane. She died the next day eighty miles from home, Covid is having a serious impact on North Idaho's hospitals.

ancient-one, mighty good to hear from you

Sorry to learn that your equilibrium skills took a slight vacation, at our age "HURRY" should be removed from the alphabet so take it easy and plot your course carefully, get well and glad you were not injured more seriously.

Thank all of you for your caring and kind remarks. It is good to be back among friends.

As for the beautiful pot and lid that combination sure beat the path and cold outhouse on winter nights. Back in the 70's and early 80's we used to spend at least a week at Wright's ranch between Creede and Lake City. Each of the very old log cabins had one as a standard fixture. They had a nice heated central bathhouse but at 9100 ft. in the middle of the night you used the pot. I think Thunder Mug was the proper name for them.

I have one of those don't breathe on it hard or it will call the ambulance necklaces. After somehow setting it off in the middle of the night I had been putting it on when I got up and removing it when I climbed into bed. MY MISTAKE! It is a 24 hour thing now.

Have a good evening!
