I am shocked, disgusted, and sick to my stomach...

That there reminds me of something James West would of had in the TV show "Wild Wild West".

Unfortunatley for us Californian's, it also pretty much sums up what we'll be left that we can buy, if all of our introducted anti-gun legislation passes.... maybe. I see two "evil" features that makes it just one feature away from being illegal in CA under current law.

They got a pretty good writeup in the American Rifleman:

Mossberg 464 SPX Review

That article contains this wonderful sentence:

"When Winchester closed its New Haven, Conn., facility in 2006, lever-action aficionados began to rent their clothing."

Not me. Nobody wanted to rent any of my clothing back in 2006.

(it shoulda been "to rend")

Gun Tests magazine actually almost did that recently. They tested this inane Mossberg "Frankengun" head to head against a Winchester Model 1895 lever action carbine in .30/40 Krag caliber.

The Winchester 1895 won.

John

Then they were testing apples against oranges and the test was invalid.

The look on your friend's faces.....

I actually think it's funny enough to own. I've been keeping an eye out since I first saw them. I'd buy one if the price was right. And yes, I'd probably load it up with ridiculous tacticool accessories just to make it even more silly.

The look on your friend's faces when you tell them, "Look at my neat new gun" would be priceless.

Rend or sometimes Rent?

Hmm…. My word processor dictionary says….

rend [rend](past and past participle rent [rent]
or rend·ed, present participle rend·ing,
3rd person present singular rends)

4. vt shatter something: to disturb the silence or pierce the air with a loud sound A scream rent the air.

Curses! Have I been out-editored again? :)

The designer possibly ate some bad cactus while lost in the desert. The only time I could see me using it is, I really need a firearm for the closing bear, some one breaking and entering or some such craziness and this is all there is in the house but not my house, a relative perhaps.

Smartest thing to happen lately?

Actually I think they had extra front and rear stocks left over from this model. One engineer must have bet another engineer, down at the bar, that they could put them on their lever action and get a certain anti gun politician from San Francisco to hold one up and give a speech.

Mossberg & Sons | 65014

Lawyers are probably drooling at the prospect of the first lever action put on the outlawed list.

Read this and think about it. Maybe these guys are really smart.

That Turnbull rifle looks like an antique mahogany chair got crossbred with an iron skillet. Give me the Mossberg and a case of 30-30 ... I'll be at the range with Frankengun.
