Figured I would share this little gem. You dont see these Detonics Scoremasters too often so I went ahead and picked this old gal up. Ive actually only seen this gun twice in my life.
Once in a movie called Commando where the bad guy Matirix had the unmistakable 1911 and the other time right here in my own collection. Lots of people wonder why 1911s? Well the biggest advantage to them besides the obvious shootability and nice single action trigger is the fact that you can pick up just about any one of these 1911s and still get parts for them. Unlike a S&W 645 that would require its own proprietary parts and magazines the Detonics for the most part is compatible with new Wilson Combat parts and magazines. The gun holds up to the name given because the gun shoots nice tight groups at 25 yards. The tightest groups I have seen with a 45 pistol thus far. Its an early stainless gun so the frame has that recognizable rough casted stainless finish you saw on guns of the period like the AMTs and Detonics Combat Masters. I like the old Detonics a lot but Im still getting a S&W 645 if I find one in good condition. Thanks for looking and happy holidays to all!
