I have to stop following my LGS on Facebook. Hello, my name is David and I have a problem. Nice revolvers keep showing up, and I need to bring them home.

This 6 inch model 10 no dash popped up this morning and I was smitten. Cylinder is tight, no slop or end shake. The finish is great with just some minor holster wear. Speaking of it came with a nice vintage leather holster.

And for only $450 it came home. No more this year!!!

What are you? A comedian?

" It came home. No more this year!!!" :D

Good catch! What is the serial number? An early one most likely. I think I see a trigger guard screw poking out?

and right-hand extractor rod. Didn't all the guns with the right-hand thread have 4 or more screws, or am I confused (again)?:rolleyes:

"No more this year!!!"

While I respect your resolve, you've come to the place where many see that as a challenge to be bested. Iffn you turn up a a nice Outdoorsman, you'll find me there!

Nice gun. Reminds me of the LNIB 6" 10 I passed up a dozen years ago... because it had a 6" bbl and didn't catch my eye! Yeah, I know...

More to the point, does anyone know of any jobs that issued, required or allowed 6" 10s?

Thankfully I've got a 38/44 I'm happy with.

Between the 2" 10-5, the 36 no dash, 38/44, m1917, and 17-9, I need to be done for a minute. Not all purchased this year mind you, just the 36 and 1917, but still…

That would have also been mine. But I would have given myself a "chance" not to buy it ..... "'Please don't be in time" ...... "Please let the hammer push off"..... "Please let the cylinder wobble" ...."Please let me feel a little bulge in the barrel" .... "PLEASE give me SOME reason to walk away with my money" .... NOPE ? .. All is good and proper :( .. Oh well then .... by the unwritten rules of " I love classic S&Ws" I am required to purchase/adopt another one :) I will now hold myself blameless :)

I once was going into one of my LGS (for entertainment purposes only) but did tell myself "The ONLY way I will be parting with ANY money today is if they just happen to have a USED Model 49 in EXCELLENT condition at a more than reasonable price. I felt pretty safe ..... Well of course I went back home with an excellent condition used Model 49.......

Six inch model 10 / M&Ps do not get the love I feel they deserve. You were REQUIRED to bring it home. I sat next to member Sasaberanger at a show and was "required" to bring this older M&P home (even if the front sight was a bit bubba'd) :)

I have always been a 357 Mag and 44/41 mag S & W N frame guy collecting back to the mid 50's.

Low and behold the pre model 10 bug bit me finding a 1920's model 4" and 6" mint unfired condition. I bought them and unfortunately cant stop searching and bidding on more. Love all the variances. I tell myself everyday no more, then there is tomorrow.

Look at it this this way, guns do not go down in value. Like money in the bank but you get to enjoy them in the mean time. Hopefully the wife buys that! LOL

When I was a young cop and it was a great paying job. In a Locker Room filled with guys with revolvers I got a great deal every pay day. Besides S&W revolvers I got great deals on 1911s too.

Just keep things in perspective. I wasn't a 1%er but our Union President say he will keep us in the top 10% Nationwide and he did plus a great Pension.
