I Cleaned Out The Cruiser Today.

You're a good man, Charlie Sherrill. You and I are about 1000 miles apart, but I'd like to say thank you for your service. Because of reading your posts over the years I've been here, it's like knowing you a little bit, and all I can say is that I wish more of our cops were like you.
Congratulations on your retirement Charlie. I'd love to read your book.

Way to go Charlie. Just be careful about hangin around with Leland to much. He looks like mischief to me.:)

thanks for everything Charlie.....sign me up for a copy of that book, and if you ever make it to Oregon lunch is on me.....

I don't know why this popped back up. But I'm doing fine since I retired. I just enjoyed some range time with another retiree. It was interrupted by a friend from homeland security who was wanting to pick my brain about some some Aryan Brotherhood stuff. I enlighten her about about what she wanted to know, I still keep up with stuff.

"The older I got the more I got into helping folks. I learned early that all problems are not solved by writing tickets and puting people in jail. Sometimes you have to but most of the time there were alternatives that actually worked better."

That is exactly what my uncle found out, and how he operated.

At his funeral, even after being off the force for decades, there were over 100 LEOs present, many knew him from his time running a Cadet program. Many higher ups running depts in E Washington today got their start from his guidance.

Thank you so much for your service, and the good you did in your community, beyond just the police work.

Congratulations Gharlie. A fine , long career and a very much deserved retirement. Myself I was Telco man for 38 years just climbing poles & stringing wire. I retired in Sept. 1988. I never looked back. Charlie, just a word of advice & do what I did. Hunt, fish & do all the things you always wanted to do. And above all, out live all those guys you once put away. I also want your book. God Bless.
