I Cleaned Out The Cruiser Today.

Congratulations Charlie,

Thank you for your Sevice and Stories.

Come on in, The Waters Fine and RETIREMENTS GREAT! :):):)

MOONMAN

I retired in 1997 after 30 years in the business and can identify w/everything you said, I was just too lazy to take the time to write it all out as well as you did. I've taken the time to get closer to my family (making up for all those nights, weekends & holidays on the job), especially all four of my grandkids. As this is written I am watching Andy Griffith police Mayberry with three of them.

Enjoy your leisure, you've earned it!

Charlie, congrats on finally pulling the plug. Well done Sir!! I started 3 years before you did. I din't stay with it, but I'm proud of ever durn minute I was behind a badge. I too am looking forward to that book. Your writings here have always been the first thing I clicked on when I saw you had a new post. May your retirement be as long and as interesting as your LE career. Again, Well done. Regards, Iggy

I've read and deeply enjoyed many of your field reports over the years here. You sir, were in exactly the right career field for a man of your caliber.

Charlie told me that he would probably come visit a bit more after his retirement.

I think that my beer budget just got bigger.

Ditto to all of the above. Congrats and thanks for your service. Enjoy the rest of your life Sir, you've earned it.

Best wishes Charlie, you will enjoy no alarm clocks, and no report writing. I pulled the plug in 1991 & never looked back. Hope to buy you a beer someday - till then God bless & enjoy retirement.

Sir, I cannot find the find the proper words to express my admiration and thanks for your service and I simply cannot fathom the sacrifices made and your ability to fight on.... Leave it to understand that you are a man that stands above others and I pray you recognize that honor. Be safe, rest now, relax, enjoy retirement life and continue please to bless this world with your being.

Dear God above thank you for giving the world this fine man!

Glad for you.
The first several weeks after my retirement just felt really strange. Felt like I was supposed to 'be somewhere', and wasn't.

Enjoy - you've earned it. Let me know if you wanna see what the NC Coast looks like......

Congratulations, best regards, thanks for your insightful and entertaining posts, and put me down as a subscriber to your forthcoming book!

Congratulations on your retirement, and your first grandson, what great timing to enjoy the next phase of your life.

Also, I enjoyed your thoughtful post, may all law enforcement share your insight, and passion for their work. Cheers!

Hang up the hat, not the holster.

Congratulations on your retirement. Well deserved.

Thanks for the service. Be safe.

" I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

That is an amazing thing to witness, so many years in law enforcement and you didn't "burn out" nor give up. Thank you for serving all those years!

Enjoy your well earned retirement.

Charlie:
Thanks for another great story and congratulations on a life well lived! Enjoy what you have earned.

Charlie, when you get that book finished you be sure to announce it here in the Lounge, because I'll be one of those in the long line looking to purchase a copy. I have always enjoyed your stories and feel that you'll be a "natural" at writing.

As for your retirement, make sure to enjoy in and stay active, we all want to see you posting for a long time to come. As for that boat, been there done that and can tell you that you didn't miss out on much except for an exceptionally deep hole to flush your money into.

I'm a little late to the party but CONGRATULATIONS Charlie! And Thank You for your service. I hope it is all going the way you planned. Stay well and stay safe. God Bless and enjoy.

Glad you made it!!!

Congratulations Charlie, I hope you feel rewarded for those times you knew you were right but made to believe you weren't. You will likely feel both remorse and relief after hanging them up but you will also adapt quickly and new fun things will take over your planning. I wish you well SIR. The world is a better place because of you and those like you!
