Here in New Jersey, getting ready for Irene I did not reach for my 27-2 or my pre-27. Instead I readied up my Sig P226 in .40 S&W.

I hope I do not get voted off the Forum.

Stay safe this weekend.

As much as I like my S&W revolvers, my Beretta Cougar in .40 S&W is my "go to" gun. It's hard to argue against superior firepower.

Good luck over there.

I would never mock anyone for reaching for a high quality tool. But you are making it sound like you might have a guilt complex???

I keep a SIG at the ready also, but it's my patrol rifle, a 556 Classic.
A big storm calls for big firepower.

Any RG revolver!

What is an RG revolver?

Found it:

In the early 1950s Röhm GmbH of Sontheim/Brenz, which was traditionally focused on the production of chucking tools, diversifys its product line and started to produce alarm guns, flare guns and handguns. Röhm's product line of firearms was primarily established under the brand name "RG". In 2010 the management of the Röhm GmbH decided to sell the complete manufacture of firearms to the UMAREX GmbH & Co. KG of Arnsberg and to refocus on its core market of chucking tools.

Police Officer Thomas Delahanty was shot by John Hinckley, Jr. with a Röhm revolver during his failed assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan. Delahanty later sued Röhm with the argument that small, cheap guns have no purpose except for crime, and thus that the company should be held responsible. The suit was subsequently rejected by the District of Columbia Court of Appeals in a suit that has served as case law for other similar product liability cases.[1]

Lou, I am glad I'm not the only one who thinks like you! I have my Model 65, but in anticipation of the serious trouble that could result from this storm, I got my Mossberg 590 out of the safe.

I'm guessing that the "Winchester 870" was a "That lunch box special" put together by someone who worked at Winchester, but was fired before he accumulated all the parts for it, then went to work for Remington, whee he accumulated more parts. Must have been a challenge to get all those Winchester and Remington parts to work together. We need photos of that one of a kind shotgun!

Huh. I'd have readied the Winchester 870 pump 12 gauge. With the extended tube it holds as many rounds as my S&W 457.

Long guns>handguns.

Win 1300 Defender here. I may have an extra round or three of 00 laying around here somewhere... ;)

I was gonna say, I may be a peasant but my 870 was built by Remington. My go to guns are it, my 308 AP4, my .40 Hipower, and my 629, probably in that order. Hope I'm not over doing it!
