I stopped by a local toy store today while out running errands. There sat this pretty little 39-2 with nary a scratch on it. I've passed by these before but just couldn't resist today. I think I'm becoming frustrated looking for a 3914.

Regards,

Jerry

Very nice. A 3914 would go well with it.

Can't go wrong with that model. Very nice addition. Any idea on the year?

That's a nice piece j38. I am a fan of the 39's and own a 39-2 like yours (not as nice), a mint 39 and a nice pre 39. Love them all. Nice photo by the way.

Well, I took it to the range tonight and fell in love with it. Very comfortable and easy to shoot. I really like the all black sights. I find them much easier to shoot with than the white dot Novak's on my 3913. With age and trifocals, the white dots confuse my eyes briefly - while I pick up the all black ones against the target promptly. Hard to explain.

By the way, it shipped in July of 1973.

Regards,

Jerry

The third gen pistols are great, but there is something about the looks of the first and second gen pistols.

I bought one in 98% immediately sent to "Actions by T", had Teddy slick up the dbl. action and trigger pull. It is one of the most ergonomically beautiful pistols anybody ever built...You will love it.

A gun very similar to yours at a local shop has been "teasing" me for a while now. I have been back and forth on this gun whether to buy or not.

If it's priced right, buy it..you won't regret it.

I would agree with you on the sights. I have a 39-2 and 59 that are both nickel. Their nickel front sights contrast well with the lollipop rear sights(is that what they are called?).

BTW good pick up

Great !!! Now this makes me want to shoot my recently acquired 39 no dash even more !!! Looking forward to seeing if the old girl, born in the late 50's and bought for $275, can outshoot my CZ 75, Shoo

Beautiful, Shoo! I love the grain in the grip panels on yours. Other than the extractor lengths, and location of the serrations on the slide - they could be twins.

I'll be taking mine back out to the range again next week. These sure feel good in the hand, don't they!

Hi Jerry, Yep, they could almost be twins, yours is also quite a beauty ! And you are right about the feel, this gun feels better in my hand than any other auto I have ever held. That honor previously belonged to my CZ 75BD. The CZ is awesome and I was good with it right away, but the 39 falls to hand like it is a part of me. If it shoots as good as it looks and feels then I think I may have a new favorite. And for $275, what's not to love ? Now we just have to get you a 9mm Shoorod for posing that 39-2 of yours so it won't get jealous ! Send me an e-mail and I'll hook you up with one on me !!! Shoo
