A few months back I posted here that I had a presentation box for a 3 1/2" barrel for an N-Frame. The members told me I should look for a Model 27, so I found one. Well, I also have a presentation box for a 5", so I finally found this one.

It is a nickel model with serial S312999 which I believe dates it to 1968-1969. The pistol fits nicely into the case, although the cleaning rod seemed too long so I found a short brush. The box would be for something starting in 1968 according to the book.

The cardboard box with it is one that I think ended in 1967. It is unusual as it has the printed label on the other side which does not show any of the 3 T's, although the gun does have them. I think the front sight is changed as it is blued and has the red ramp. I know that it is not all original, but the changes are not too bad for me.

I think your front sight is likely correct, as that is how K and N Frame revolvers from the 50s thru the late 60s were treated. Very nice 27

It sounds as though you either have to stop buying Presentation cases or budget to fill them. Now you only have the 4, 6 and 8 3/8" to complete the set...oops, blue and nickel? :)

Hello Mr. Vette from NM, I think I have this correct. You bought two boxes and then bought the appropriate guns. And darn beauties they are.
Darn, you got my disease. Are we brothers? separated at birth.
Good snag on all points. best, your missing brother in FL.

I try and buy the gun and hunt for the box, but it seems to work much better the way you do it...nice S&Ws

Beautiful, I have the 5 inch and it's one of my favorites. Albuquerque, my brother owns Roller King or whatever it's called now Skateland?
