I did it again

I couldn't take all that black junk on the cylinder.



So I got out my cleaning stuff and gave it a better cleaning than I did last time.

Wiped it down with a good lead removal cloth, polished it with Flitz and waxed it with Renaissance Wax.

Now I'm happy.










I am a better shot with this 6" 686 than I am with any of my guns. As soon as it warms up and
the range dries out a bit I'll head out there and get it all dirty once again.

Nice 686 ! carbon cleans off easier for awhile after polishing, I shoot my 686-6 every other week or so and just clean with Hoppes 9. I did polish it with Flitz few months ago, if I had real nice revolver would keep it shined up.

Go the extra mile, (or perhaps mile and a half) and get that crud out of the cylinder stop slots. Toothbrush, Q-tips and toothpics are not required....but work really well. Armorers everywhere will be grateful.

This is how it came to me. It had been heavily used in competition.

This was the third time I've cleaned this one.
I have learned a lot about cleaning and cleaning supplies here in this forum.





This was only the second time I shot this one. 8" paper plate, 40 out of 50 at 100 feet.
Two hands, not rested SA. For me I was quite happy.
