I hemmed and hawed over this thing for about a year. I decided that today was the day. I'm off to the range tonight to consummate this marriage. I hope it's a long and happy one. I'll try to post my initial reaction when I get done cleaning it later this evening.

Dave: That made me chuckle...

I have so much to say, I'll try to keep it to bullet points (pun totally intended).

I only had time for 50 rounds of Federal Champion 230gr FMJ (the Wal-Mart stuff), and a box of 25 Rem GS 230gr HP. It had absolutely no trouble with this initial 75 round offering.

I really took my time tonight. Very deliberately aligning my sights, concentrating on my breathing, and squeezing the trigger until it broke.

It is dead on accurate. I mean, scary accurate. Especially when I was really trying hard to grip properly, breathe, and squeeze.

This gun is fantastic. Light, small, yet for a .45, very controllable recoil. For me, I think that is due to the ergonomics. It's got a solid .45 push (as it should) but at the end of the cycle I find myself naturally back on the target. It points well for me.

I'm coming from a Kimber Ultra Carry II that I just got sick of babying, and as a result, I find the trigger a little "weird". That's the only way I can describe it. But by the time I got to the 2nd mag tonight I had the hang of it. There's slack, and then it catches, and then it releases. I guess it's the "slack" I'm not quite used to yet. And the reset is different. Not bad in anyway, just different. But that's to be expected.

It was even a joy to clean just now. Easiest take-down of any gun I've ever owned.

This is my first polymer, striker-fired, double-stack gun. I was not a believer before but I am proud to say that I am now. I usually state "don't knock it 'till you rock it" and should have taken my own advice long ago on this pistol.

The one thing I cannot seem to do yet is pull the "tool" out of the backstrap. I twist it 1/4 of a turn, and pull with all of my might, it just won't come out. I'll give it a try at a later date.

That's it for now. I can't wait to shoot it again next week.

Like others have stated in other posts, removing the tool can be a pain. Once you have the back strap on that you like, just leave the tool alone. Use something else for take-down.

I have a M&P 9c and I really like shooting it. So much so that I am wanting a 45c as well. Of course I want a Bodyguard 380 and a kel-Tec pf-9 too. There is just no end to it!:D

Just bought a M&P 45C a coupla weeks ago, so far great gun, looking for good concealment holster for gun.

You're right, shoots right to POA and fast return to target.

Take a look at the Galco "Combat master". I reallly loved it in combination with my 45c.

I have the same pistol and I couldn't have said it better. I bought it 3 weeks ago instead of a P220 Carry, and couldn't be happier. I had the same problem with the "tool" when I changed my backstrap. I used pliers, but I don't plan on removing it again.

BTW, my trigger is quite a bit better after 300+ rounds.

There are many like it...

...but this one is mine.

First attempt at posting a picture. Also first attempt at taking a picture. I used my phone. Based on how this picture looks, cameras have no place inside of phones.
