Right now, on the national news, it is reporting about the ill effects of smoking is causing/caused...

But if smoking is bad for you, how can smoking dope be good for you?

Next question: If pot smoking is legal in Colorado, and some of the other states now, will that mean our elected officials will be smoking pot, and then going to work and make decisions for the rest of us?

Hmmmmm....

I have heard reports that one joint contains as much carcinogens as one pack of regular cigarettes.

Studies have been unable to tie this to Lung Cancer or any others.

Sorry I don't believe it. There are reasons I believe they want people to smoke pot... none of them good!

While we are on the subject....

I don't smoke dope but please don't ask me how I know. Suffice to say I know people that do. The pot that people are smoking nowadays is not your grandfather's pot. Pot was green, looked like parsley, and it pretty much mellowed people out. It had a distinctive sweet odor.

Fast forward 40 years. The stuff they are smoking now has been bred to have VERY high concentrations of THC. One particularly strong strain is called 'Loud', for a good reason. It makes people crazy drunk like they are full of tequila. It doesn't even smell the same, something like very stale tobacco.

I have always believed that the main problem with pot was that it made people not give a **** about anything, but was mainly benigh. I'd hate to think of somebody on present day marijuana behind the wheel of a car.

For a comparison I'd say that 'old' pot was beer and 'new' pot is more like white lightnin'.

One of the last lines in 'Reefer Madness' said that a criminal was insane because of addiction to the drug marijuana" which was ridiculous at the time. Nowadays I'm not so sure.:(:(:(

in Washington state it was allowed to be legalized for the huge amounted of tax money it is going to raise...my feeling on it is the same as booze...used responsibly and in moderation by adults there is no problem... there are laws for the others

The tax bite here is 25% plus sales tax, which may drive buyers back underground.

Hmmmm...Al Capone Jr. Bootlegged pot:eek:

I don't know, I for one am glad I'm not in blue any more.....

You stop the car..."Have you been drinking"?

"No man, I've been smokin"...

"Ok, you're free to go".

Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol...Might be kind of hard to do a breathalizer test by the side of the road.

Could it be that state governments are ok with pot smoking that smokers will get wacked out enough they don't care about anything and the politicians/crooks will have free reign?

Oh they are working on that.

The assumption is that pot smokers get stoned all day every day.We all know people that do that and we all know people that drink all day.I don't think that's the majority from what I've seen since the 70s ended.

What??? How to bootleg it, or come up with a breathalizer:D

P.S. I wonder if the LEO's of today, will do what we used to do when we caught minors with booze.....Make them pour it out into the street, then send them on their way...There went all their hard earned money down the drain.;););)

Meanwhile, Ness and the boys raided the warehouse stacked with bales of marijuana, setting fire to the lot....

Agent: "Hey boss, you got the munchies?"

Ness: "Yeah, let's get outa here!"
