I am sooo pumped. I FINALLY found one! A 27-2 with a 5" barrel. Until now, I had to make due with my 28s.
It is a blued 5" gun with probably 98%+ blue. It has the ususal slight cylinder drag mark. No flame cutting and the timing is perfect. Lock up and end shake are just fine. In fact, the only down side is that the stocks don't fit right and seem to be sanded. (Converted L frame stocks?) No problem as most I've seen have the dreaded "Goodyears" anyway.
I was not going to let this one get away and promply laid some cash down for my shop to hold it. Final price is $500 OTD. No box/papers. Just the gun. I suspect that the price is really good as I see 28s in similar condition from $450-$550.
I haven't seen many 27s of any length much in the past 2-3 yrs in my area. When I do, they are all 6" guns.
Here's my question, how rare/desireable is the 5".
