Saxon, Thanks for sharing your story. I lost my mom 5 years ago and dad 2 years ago. Dad was like some of the others on here when he started giving me one of his guns each time I would go home to see them. Each time he would relay a story of how he got the old Winchester 22 when he was a teenage. Then he gave me the PPK with holster that he bought from his tent-mate in Panatella, Italy. They acquired it from a local kid that sold it to them for some food, in May of 1945 when he was in the 15thAF. Last of all I got the 686-2 that he had bought some time in the 80s. I cannot look at any of these without thinking about him and how grateful I am that he thought enough of me put them in my care. I know how much he enjoyed them and hope my grand kids appreciate them like we do. These pieces are a tangible link to the past to help us remember who we are and where we have come from.
